California APIC Coordinating Council Mentorship Pilot Program
Program Overview
You're invited to participate in the California APIC Coordinating Council's new Mentorship Pilot Program!
This initiative is designed to foster meaningful professional growth through peer-to-peer and small group mentorship. Participants will be thoughtfully matched based on skillset gaps, areas of expertise, professional interests, availability, years of experience, and healthcare employment settings. Whether you're looking to build confidence, share knowledge, or expand your infection prevention network, this tailored approach offers a supportive platform to grow together. Join us in shaping the future of infection prevention through collaborative mentorship!
The APIC Chapter Mentoring Program is a multi-level mentoring program delivered through local chapters that helps grow IP knowledge and builds confidence in the IP role, real-world IP application, and daily IP tasks and activities for novice and proficient level IPs. Based on the needs and capabilities of participating chapters, novice and proficient level IPs will connect with their peers and/or more experienced IPs to:
- Receive direct guidance and helpful advice in navigating the science and day-to-day implementation of infection prevention in your first/early years of practice
- Enhance and accelerate your professional growth and development in the field of Infection Prevention
- Improve your IP practice, communication and job satisfaction
- Establish a life-long career connection(s) to help you reach your professional goals and learn about new opportunities
- Advance your infection prevention career: studies show that mentees are five times more likely to be promoted than those who do not participate in a mentorship program
- Get tips for maximizing your APIC Membership
Program is now open and expect to launch early July!
