Foundations

Three-day (over 3 weeks) guided coursework outlining the basic elements needed to work in either a skilled nursing or acute care facility infection prevention department. The CA APIC Foundations Program is California’s premier professional intensive, designed to empower infection preventionists to work seamlessly alongside state public health leaders and workplace safety partners. By bridging clinical expertise with positive regulatory alignment, the curriculum equips IPs to become data-driven strategists who can leverage modern electronic health data and implement sustainable protocols in a unified effort to elevate the standard of care across California. The virtual platform will be Microsoft Teams.
