  • 1.  pre-procedure covid testing

    Posted 08-30-2022 11:19

    Hi all,
I am wondering what you are all doing at this point in the game for pre-procedure covid testing?

    1. Are you testing for all procedures? Only aerosol generating procedures? No longer testing?
    2. Are you testing with a PCR or antigen test?
    3. Are you testing individuals that had covid in the last 90 days?
    4. Are you factoring in community transmission level?

Thank you in advance for your time!

    Amy,
We continue to test all of our patients prior to surgery and inpatient admissions.  We have the ability to do Saliva Direct, (PCR) so our turnaround time is about 24 hours for surgery and outpatient procedures.  We use either the Cepheid  or Biofire rapid PCR for any inpatient admissions from ER.
