Kendra Gohl and I are excited to tell you about something new coming to OSWAPIC.
OSWAPIC will be participating in a pilot mentoring program and we are reaching out to give a quick description and share how you can participate. We need to hear from you all. Your voices and experiences are important. . We encourage you to attend the upcoming OSWAPIC meeting to learn more and If you are unable to attend and are interested in a topic or have a question please reach out to us.
Starting in October we will be starting PEER-TO-PEER mentoring for everyone during our OSWAPIC chapter meetings. This is intended to spur conversation and discussion on things we are struggling with. It can be as simple as a Q & A session, Show and Tell, but can be a more robust discussion. The intent is to assess the needs of chapter members and how we can all support each other in our growth as IPs.
In November we will start SMALL GROUP mentoring. We will be sharing more information on this program at the October OSWAPIC Meeting. The goal with the small groups is to work together on things we have all struggled with. It could be learning to do presentations, creating SMART goals, working through year end infection prevention risk assessments or role-playing activities.
When we start this, we will need to know if would like to participate in the small groups as a mentee or if you would like to be a mentor.
