The OSWAPIC 'STAR' AWARDS are BACK!!!!
The OSWAPIC Special Thanks And Recognition (STAR) Awards are an annual recognition bestowed by the OSWAPIC Chapter to honor six outstanding Members for their exceptional contributions to the field of Infection Prevention. The STAR Award categories aim to appreciate these individuals for their exceptional performance, promote innovation, and encourage creative thinking within the Infection Prevention profession.
The six OSWAPIC STAR Awards align with the National APIC Competency Model, recognizing excellence in key areas essential for advancing infection prevention and control: Leadership, Professional Stewardship, Research, IPC Operations, Quality Improvement, and IPC Informatics.
STAR Award Nominations will be accepted starting Tuesday, April 1, 2025 through Friday, October 31, 2025.

Nominee Eligibility:
- Must be an active member of the OSWAPIC Chapter.
- Must have made significant contributions to the field of Infection Prevention, demonstrating excellence in one or more of the listed APIC competency areas:
- Leadership
- Professional Stewardship
- Research
- IPC Operations
- Quality Improvement
- IPC Informatics
Who Can Nominate an OSWAPIC Member for a STAR Award?
- Eligibility: Nominations can be submitted by any OSWAPIC member, peers, supervisors, or stakeholders within the Infection Prevention community.
- Information Required:
- Nominator and the Nominee's name, title, and contact information.
- A detailed description of the nominee's contributions and achievements (maximum 500 words).
- Specific examples demonstrating how the nominee aligns with the APIC Competency Model for the selected STAR Award Nomination Category.
