Hi Lindsey,
Patients and staff will have the option to mask, and masks will continue to be provided. Masks will still be required restricted areas, such as the operating room, decontamination or when completing any tasks when splashing with blood or other body fluids is anticipated or other situation when masking is required by CDC (ex: droplet precautions).
I do agree that we should continue to do screening for patients and visitors.
I am wondering if this is going to affect somehow the return to work plan for staff with Covid....

Hi Katie,
Are you following any CDC guidelines for transmission to determine mask wearing or just making it optional for everyone? I'm at an ASC in Portland and I also was wondering about patient screening, but I think we would continue that practice since we don't want those who are having respiratory illness to have inhaled anesthesia.
Thank you for sharing!

I work for an Ambulatory Surgery Center. In accordance with Oregon Health Authority guidance, we are planning to lift the mandatory mask requirement. Patients and staff will have the option to mask, and masks will continue to be provided.
What about patient/visitor Screening? Does anyone know if that changed? I didn't find anything indicating that it did. Just want to make sure.
Thansks,

Hello,
With the masking requirements being lifted, how are organizations preparing for this change. We are a smaller mixed business line (outpatient primary/behavior clinic, respite for homeless populations discharged from hospital, and residential substance abuse programming). We typically try to follow the lead of other organizations in our area, so its always helpful to know.
Thank you,
Laurie
