In January the new standard for education and competency requirements related to Infection Prevention practices were released by Joint Commission. (see below) They are requesting that IP education/competency be job specific and include ongoing assessment and training. Our team is struggling to develop a plan to meet this requirement as it seems like a huge endeavor, and we are unsure where to start with this. Would like to know what other hospitals are doing to meet this requirement.
