Hi Lori,
I don't know what model our tubs are but the process is to fill the tub with warm water, turn on the whirlpool motor, use the hospital approved whirlpool antiseptic (I also don't know for sure what this product), allow it to run for 10 minutes, and drain. The process is repeated without the antiseptic and then the tub is wiped down completely.
We also have inflatable birth pools but those instructions for cleaning are a bit more involved.

Subject: Jetted tub in Labor & Delivery
Hello IP Family,
Happy Friday eve ....Seeking your assistance and resources on the topic of Jetted tubs in Labor & Delivery. My facility is a CAH with jetted tubs in our labor and delivery unit.
Questions:
Does your facility have jetted tubs for L & D?
- If yes, what model and can you please share your cleaning/disinfection process?
- If no tubs, what was the rationale for removing them or not considering use of them?
I'm hoping to also learn how many facilities in OR/SW Washington have jetted tubs in L & D.
Your response is so appreciated, thank you!
