Hello,
I am so thankful to all who taught me and were patient with me during my time in OSWAPIC chapter.
I moved here in 2007 from Tennessee, having only 6 years of experience in Infection Prevention.
I am moving back to TN later this month (retired from KP Westside in May of 2022).
You trusted me as your Chapter President in 2010 and 2015, as well as serving as the Fall Conference chair in 2016.
I have learned so much and made some great friends.
One of my most memorable events was in 2010 serving as President and arguing with a state legislators (one was not so nice) that Oregon Infection Preventionists did not need to publically report more HAIs than we were already. That we needed to be out on the floors teaching, watching practices, answering questions and observing in the OR, etc.
And then another memorable event while being IP at KP Westside when the first COVID patient was identified in our ICU after being there for almost a week.
I admire all of you and wish you all the best!!!
