  • 1.  General maintenance in OR

    Posted 05-21-2025 12:44

We utilize ASHE ICRA 2.0 and have developed general maintenance ICRAs for Class 1 and Class 2 type work with our Facilities teams. These "standing orders" can be used for day-to-day work throughout our facility, which has been greatly appreciated and mostly successful. However, when you follow the grid, Type A work in the OR or similar "highest risk" areas becomes Class 3. We are struggling to set our team up for success when it comes to work that produces little to no dust. An example of this is simple maintenance on an autoclave in the sterile Core or in SPD. Has anyone developed modified standards for general maintenance work (with little to no dust) in your "highest risk" areas? Or do you follow Class 3 and recommend sealing off the area, including return and supply air diffusers?
