a. We explored how infection preventionists can identify and create strategies for addressing health disparities at their current practices.
b. I learned about approaches to take to promote health equity in infection prevention, such as through community partners and interdisciplinary collaboration.
c. We reviewed examples of creating target actions for IPs to utilize to reduce disparities of hospital-acquired infections. For example, incorporating social determinates of health into risk assessments.
3) How you are going to apply those learnings in your current session.
a. The presenters gave insightful scenarios and suggestions on how infection preventionists can help bridge the health equity gap. I plan to explore these strategies and see how I can apply them in my current setting. For example, working on strengthening community partnerships and reviewing the data we collect.
