Hi Connie! I know that we've struggled with this issue as well. I learned a lot from a presentation that was at APIC this year (MIFU Friend or Foe) and I've also had an opportunity to meet with a rep from GE who explained a lot about why the IFUs were written the way they are. I'd be happy to talk more ...

Hi Lori, I don't know what model our tubs are but the process is to fill the tub with warm water, turn on the whirlpool motor, use the hospital approved whirlpool antiseptic (I also don't know for sure what this product), allow it to run for 10 minutes, and drain. The process is repeated without ...

Hi Melanie, We've been using these for quite some time at our Legacy hospitals. We are currently using the Primafit. I think it's been a good option for the right patient. It's important for nursing to work with skin care experts to ensure there aren't inadvertent issues. I think it's safe to say that ...

We are still screening all visitors and employees, vendors, etc. We still require masking as well. These are also requirements of the State, OSHA, and CMS. The gown is usually put on after the PAPR when entering a room and the gown is taken off before the gown when exiting the room. It also keeps contamination risk down - especially since the belt can be long on some people. ...
