Terra is a System Manager of Infection Prevention for M Health Fairview. She has worked in Infection Prevention for 13 years. She has previously served on the APIC board as secretary. Terra was working as a floor nurse in 2009 and while going to school for her Bachelor’s her instructor suggested doing her clinical hours in Infection Prevention. After spending a few months with the Infection Prevention team at North Memorial she fell in love with IP and knew this was the path for her. She was given an opportunity to join that team in Feb 2010 and hasn’t looked back. She has a passion for HAI reduction and HCID. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.

Stephanie is an Infection Prevention Manager for Fairview. She has worked in Infection Prevention since 2013. As part of APIC MN she has served on the Nominating Committee, International Committee, and as Membership Director. She had the opportunity to travel to Tanzania in 2016 as part of the APIC MN International Committee to share hand hygiene education and partner with our colleagues at Ilula Lutheran Hospital. She received the APIC MN Chapter Leader award in 2022.

Tiana is an Infection Preventionist at St. Francis Regional Medical. She has been a nurse for 24 years and has spent the last 15 years in Infection Prevention at both small and large organizations. She enjoys teaching and educating on infection prevention practices and her interests include cleaning and sterilization, risk assessments, and regulatory and accreditation. Tiana has previously served as Chair of the APIC Ambulatory Committee and Public Policy Committee. As a recent empty-nester, she has been able to explore new hobbies such as arts and crafts. She enjoys spending time with her family traveling and visiting National Parks.

Katherine obtained her Masters of Public Health, Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health in 2003. She is CIC certified in Infection Prevention and Control, and as a Minnesota Certified Emergency Manager, 2008. Katherine has been an Infection Preventionist for Maple Grove Hospital since 2015. Prior to this she worked in Hospital Emergency Management since 2005, serving as both Vice Chair and Chair of the Metropolitan Hospital Compact 2007 – 2015.

Denice is a nurse with an MPH in environmental occupational health nursing. Her work experience includes 30+ years as a public health nurse in disease prevention/control and emergency planning/response and then as a CIC Infection Preventionist in a wide variety of settings including acute care, long term care, ambulatory care, and behavioral health. She recently retired from the Minnesota Department of Health as a Nurse Specialist in the HAI/AR Unit working with the Infection Control Assessment and Response Program. Denice’s top priority and focus throughout her career has been quality of care and the safety of patients, staff, and their families.

Lia is a Healthcare Epidemiologist with the Infection Prevention and Control team at Children's Minnesota. She pursued a career in infection prevention after obtaining her Masters of Public Health, Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota in 2019. As an Epidemiologist, she has a passion for data and providing infection prevention support throughout Children's. In her spare time, Lia enjoys reading and spending time with her family and pups.

Patty is an Infection Preventionist at Gillette Children’s in St. Paul, MN. Patty has worked in Infection Prevention for seven years, transitioning to her current pediatric role in 2022. She began serving as Chapter Legislative Representative, and now serves as Director at Large. She is committed to patient, family, and employee safety and enjoys the education and collaboration that the IP role allows. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with her family.

Kari is an Infection Prevention Manager at University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC), Masonic Children’s Hospital (MCH), and Southdale Hospital, a part of M Health Fairview System. She has been working in Infection Prevention since 2014 and has been an active APIC MN member. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, including chasing after a busy toddler.

Tracey started a career in Infection Prevention in Bismarck, ND in 2015. She has worked in the inpatient setting, and has most recently transitioned to the ambulatory setting. Tracey is a registered nurse by background and has experience in Inpatient Blood and Marrow Transplant, the Operating Room, Endoscopy, and the Emergency Room. Her IP involvement and interests include regulatory and accreditation, cleaning and sterilization of equipment, and the environment of care. Tracey served on the education committee for APIC MN prior to becoming the Communications Director. In her spare time she enjoys fishing and trying to keep up with her three young boys. |
