About Us
The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) is a multi-disciplinary voluntary international organization. APIC’s mission is to create a safer world through the prevention of infection. This is achieved by the provision of better care to promote better health at a lower cost.
APIC Delaware Valley and Philadelphia founded in 1973. With almost 300 members, our infection (IPs) come from many counties across Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey Delaware. Our membership is a dynamic and dedicated organization working on the leading edge of infection prevention in the clinical setting. Our members are also committed to the development and recruitment of new infection .
We work in various healthcare settings, including acute care, pediatrics, behavioral health, ambulatory care, long-term care, ambulatory surgery centers, assisted living facilities, clinics, home care facilities, hospice, hospitals, mental health facilities, and state and local public health departments.
Our members are dedicated and passionate about infection prevention, providing ourselves and our community with an invaluable collaborative infection prevention resource. We hold regular chapter meetings which provide an opportunity to network, exchange evidence-based practices, and participate in educational activities.
