What is the CIC®?

The CIC® examination is the standardized measure of the basic knowledge, skills and abilities expected of professionals working in the field of infection prevention and control. The initial certification exam is an objective, multiple-choice examination consisting of 150 questions. 135 of these questions are used to compute the score. Need to renew your CIC certification? You can take another test OR recertify by continuing education. Historically, the recertification test is open book. However, it has been known to be difficult. Being involved with IE APIC and serving as a board member are a few ways to obtain recertification WITHOUT worrying about test questions. :)
