About APIC Montana Chapter 117

Founded in 1993, APIC MT Chapter 117 serves infection prevention professionals across the state of Montana and includes members from a wide range of healthcare settings-acute care, long-term care, ambulatory and outpatient care, and more.

We are a community built on collaboration, practical support, and sharing what works, so no one has to do infection prevention alone. 

Vision:

A safer world through the prevention of infection. 

APIC MT Chapter 117 envisions a healthcare system where patients, healthcare professionals, and communities are protected from preventable infections through strong infection prevention practices, leadership, and innovation.

Mission:

To advance the science and practice of infection prevention and control. 

APIC MT Chapter 117 advance the mission by supporting Infection Preventionists thought education, mentorship, advocacy, and shared expertise. We are committed to strengthening infection prevention practices across Montana though patient and resident safety initiatives, science based best practices, professional competencies, certification, data-informed decision-making, and collaboration.

Goals:

  • Advance infection prevention and epidemiology practice to improve the quality and safety of healthcare.
  • Support the prevention of healthcare-associated infections through education and evidence-based strategies.
  • Share knowledge, tools, and emerging best practices, including new methods and resources.
  • Welcome, recruit, mentor, and support new Infection Preventionists, helping them grow with confidence.
