About

APIC of Greater New Orleans provides a local presence for APIC. The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc (APIC) is a multidisciplinary, voluntary, international organization whose purpose is to improve health by serving the needs and aims common to all disciplines that are united by infection control and epidemiology activities.

We have members who work in many different areas including acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, federally qualified health care centers, clinics, mental health facilities, skilled nursing facilities and public health departments.

Our members are dedicated and passionate about infection prevention. Our goal is to provide ourselves and our healthcare community with new and updated infection control and prevention resources.

Our chapter meetings provide an opportunity to network, exchange evidence-based practices, educational opportunities, and support to new infection preventionists by giving them a chance to meet other infection preventionist who can give advice and share experiences. We try to customize our chapter meetings to meet the challenge many of our members have in attending by offering virtual meetings.

Additionally, members of APIC-GNO benefit from the development of supportive networking and friendship relationships that support professional and personal growth.
