Dr. Charles Edmiston is an internationally recognized leader in surgical infection prevention and hospital epidemiology, serving as Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He directed the Surgical Microbiology and Hospital Epidemiology Research Laboratory and served as Hospital Epidemiologist at Froedtert Hospital for over two decades, with extensive leadership roles at the state and national levels, including the FDA, CDC (HICPAC), and the Surgical Infection Society. Board certified in Infection Control (CBIC) and Clinical Microbiology (ASCP), Dr. Edmiston is a fellow of multiple professional societies, has authored over 400 peer‑reviewed publications, and delivered more than 500 national and international lectures.
