2023 APIC Chapter Leader Award
Congratulations to 2023 APIC-VA Chapter President Jacque' Butler on being selected for the 2023 Chapter Leader Award. This honor was awarded at the APIC 2023 Annual Conference. Her nomination described her willingness as President-Elect to assist in any capacity when asked, and her unwavering support of the APIC Virginia chapter. The award honors leadership, achievements in developing the chapter's member community, and efforts to advance infection prevention.

2023 APIC Fellow Class Includes Carolyn Kiefer, APIC-VA Member
Congratulations to Carolyn Kiefer, RN, MSN, CIC, FAPIC for being inducted into the latest class of APIC Fellows! Carolyn is an active member of APIC-VA, holding several board positions during her time with APIC-VA including President. Fellow of APIC status is a distinction of honor for infection preventionists who are not only advanced practitioners of infection prevention practice, but also leaders within the field. 


APIC 2018 National Award:  Synergistic Alliances
Our Virginia Chapter won one of the National APIC Chapter Excellence Awards which was presented at the National Conference.  We were able to demonstrate how the chapter's participation in and alliance with other organizations such as the Virginia Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Advisory Group (VHAG) has provided both synergy and energy towards attaining mutual goals to improve the health of Virginians.  Together, we have influenced public policies and promoted Antibiotic Stewardship as well as providing educational programs for infection prevention in Long-Term Care settings.

APIC 2016 Chapter Leader Award

Congratulations to Betsy Allbee for receiving the 2016 Chapter Leader Award. She has fulfilled all the criteria set forth by the Virginia APIC board for this nomination including, mentorship, community outreach, promoting Infection Prevention education, and supporting the goals and mission of APIC.
