Mentor Program

Mentor Program

The APIC-SEW has engaged new and established members in organizing a chapter mentorship program. This is an area of need for our chapter members to assist with networking and support of our new members and recognize the wealth of expertise and knowledge of our existing members. This will also support the integration of Infection Prevention concepts between our acute care and long term care practitioners.

The mentor will provide the mentee with needed chapter information to help improve practice and orient new members to the benefits of APIC.

Mentee Responsibilities:

    • Interested members will be provided the list of mentors upon request. List is also available on website.
    • Contact the identified mentor that fits your needs.
    • At the end of year submit a short summary of how the mentor assisted you in providing support and guidance in their role as an Infection Preventionist, include any feedback for improvements the chapter can make for the mentor program.

Mentor responsibilities:

    • Sign up at meetings or contact the membership director
    • Be available during meetings to assist new members with introductions during the meeting process
    • Be available for questions directly from a mentee via email/phone.
