Chapter membership is a feature of APIC membership. In order to participate in chapter activities, you must first join APIC.When joining national APIC, you will also have the option to join a local chapter.  The State of Maine chapter is called the Pine Tree Chapter and our chapter number is 126.  There is an additional fee to join the local chapter.  However, the networking and support you will gain with our chapter well worth the financial investment.  Other benefits of joining a local chapter include educational opportunities, mentorship, and the opportunity to advocate for infection prevention issues.

Member Benefits 

Membership Categories:

Full/active member US/Canada $215  | International $80

Active Members shall be individuals occupationally or professionally involved in the practice and management of infection control and/or the application of epidemiology. Such members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of Directors, serve on committees, and hold elected office.

New IP member US/Canada $215  | International $80

New IP Members shall be individuals occupationally or professionally involved in the practice and management of infection control and/or the application of epidemiology for up to three years. Such members may vote in elections or when a membership vote is required by Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws or requested by the Board of Directors, serve on committees, and hold elected office. Individuals can be in this category for three years, not to exceed their first three years in infection prevention and control.

Associate member US/Canada $225  | International $80

Associate Members shall be individuals who are not actively involved in the practice and management of infection control and/or the application of epidemiology. Associate Members may not vote, hold elected office, or serve on committees.

Individuals enrolled full-time in an accredited institution, prior to the award of an associates or bachelor’s degree. Student members may not vote or hold office but may serve on committees. Retired member US/Canada $80 | International $80

Retired Members shall be individuals who are no longer employed in any capacity and who have had five (5) consecutive years of Active or Associate APIC membership prior to retirement. Retired Members may not vote or hold elected office, however, they may serve in appointed capacities. New! Advanced Training Discount (save $50)

Full/Active and Associate Members based in the US/Canada and enrolled in a formal degree or certificate program with an accredited college/university can save $50 on annual membership dues.

Discount is available to both new and renewing members. Discount is only available online and must be entered at the time of payment. The code cannot be applied retroactively or outside of the annual join/renew process. Discount can only be used once per program and degree/certification information must be provided at the time of payment.
