The Western Iowa APIC Chapter is one of three APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) chapters within the State of Iowa. Our chapter was formed in 2010, yet we have been meeting monthly as an organized group of infection preventionists since 1977.
Our members come from acute care, critical access, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, clinics, and the public health department. We meet in-person or virtually monthly for programs and round table discussions. Our chapter has over 50 members.
We work collaboratively with the other other APIC chapters in Iowa to improve the healthcare for all patients and to create a safer world through prevention of infection.
