Welcome to the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton Region!

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Chapter 26, Greater Cincinnati-Dayton area provides a local presence for APIC, an internationally recognized leader in infection prevention and control.

We serve many communities including:

  • Southwest Ohio Counties (Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland, and Warren)
  • Western Ohio Counties (Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Preble)
  • Southeast Indiana Counties (Dearborn, Franklin, and Ohio)
  • Northern Kentucky Counties (Boone, Campbell, Grant, And Kenton)

APIC Chapter 26 was originally founded in 1990. It is currently 1 of 4 chapters serving Ohio. Today, we have over 120 members in our chapter.

We are a group of professionals from various backgrounds that are dedicated to the prevention of infection. Our members include nurses, microbiologists, public health practitioners, and industry representatives. What once was an acute care hospital infection control group, has grown to capture all levels from primary through tertiary care.

Meetings and educational sessions are held on a monthly basis virtually with in-person meetings occurring on a quarterly basis. Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We also host an annual conference in September.
