Recently retired from full time as a Senior Clinical Advisor with Diversey but would like to continue to provide consultation related to IP and Control.
I have practiced in the field of Infection Prevention for 30+ years and have been board Certified in Infection Control (CIC) since 1990. Recently I have obtained the CHESP certification through AHE as well as becoming a trainer for the Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician Program (T-CSCT) through AHE.
Prior to my role with Diversey, I provided Interim Leadership, Infection Prevention at Tulane Medical Center, Truman Medical Center and UF Health Jacksonville, as well as sole proprietor of EPIC Consulting Services, LLC. I have held senior management positions in IP & C over the years. Experience has been, System Director of Epidemiology and Infection Control Services for a large multi-hospital and continuum of care system (Acute care, Long Term Care, Rehabilitation, Day care, physician practice, and Home health), I have also worked in the Medical Device Industry. .
In 2016 I had the privilege of serving the Greater Kansas City APIC Chapter as the President and have served as President - elect, Board member, Greater KC APIC Conference Planning Committee and Community Service.
Past leadership positions have been as past Secretary to the DFW APIC chapter, FPIC, and President of the SWFRIC group (Ft. Myers, FL).
In 2004, the abstract "Reduction of Nosocomial Urinary Tract Infections utilizing a Silver Alloy-Coated Catheter (SACC) - A Patient Safety Analysis" presented at National APIC in 2004, which I co-authored with B. Burt, RN, BS, CIC and D. Pace, RN. I have also been co-author for several articles during my time with Diversey, I have had the opportunity to speak at nationally at APIC chapters, state meetings and the 2021 Virtual APIC Educational Conference.
Education: B.S. degree for Barry University in Miami, FL. and obtained her A.A.S. degree from Alfred State College, Alfred, New York.
