Director of Infection Prevention- Virtua Health

Summary:

In collaboration and under the guidance of the Infection Control Officer and Vice President of Clinical Outcomes and Quality Management the Infection Prevention Director is accountable for the Infection Prevention Programs across the Virtua System.
     The director will be responsible for management of the divisional Infection Prevention Managers to achieve program goals.
Analyzes system wide data and implements standardized practices.
Maintains cohesive relationship with local quality directors, patient care services, ancillary departments and members of the medical staff.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementation and management of an organization-wide infection prevention program.
• Uses knowledge of industry best practices to create an effective infection prevention program and continually measures results for continuous improvement.
• Serves in a leadership role to drive change and process improvement that reduce healthcare acquired infections.
• Responsible for the oversight of all Virtua facilities’ infection prevention activities.
• Develops and maintains a collaborative Infection Prevention team and partners with clinical and quality peers throughout the organization to achieve program goals.
• Manages data collection to track infection prevention trends across the organization. Prepares and presenting reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission standards relating to infection control.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in Infection Prevention.

Previous supervisory experience required.

Required Education:
Master’s degree required.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Registered nurse with a current NJ license.
Current membership in APIC (Association of Professional in Infection Control and Prevention) and Certification in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC)
