About our Chapter: Vision & Mission

ABOUT OUR CHAPTER

APIC Greater Los Angeles (GLA) chapter 003 was originally founded in 1973 as the “Nurse Epidemiologist of Southern California” group. It was the only infection control association in Southern California at that time. In 1975, it became the first California chapter to become an official chartered APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.) chapter.

The APIC Greater Los Angeles (GLA) membership is a diverse group that represents healthcare facilities and medical supply companies throughout the Los Angeles area. Our members are dedicated to and passionate about the field of infection prevention. Because Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States, we aim to act as an invaluable resource to a large community. Our members benefit from collaborative relationships and engaging educational activities. Please consider joining us today!
