Greater Jackson Chapter 68 seeks to provide educational and networking opportunities, as well as serve as an infection prevention resource, to all persons who have infection prevention duties in their job roles. This includes, but is not limited to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities, and dialysis centers.

Our board consists of infection preventionists (IPs) who serve in a variety of roles in the Greater Jackson area, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery center, state department of health, MS Hospital Association, and statewide quality initiative programs. This broad range of experience assists us to address many of the current infection prevention issues facing IPs in their job roles.

Our primary goal is to provide a meeting environment that supports new the new IP and works together to address common issues as they relate to infection prevention. Our chapter also seeks to reach out to the community to address and educate the public about infection related topics. Our recent endeavor was a very successful Hand Hygiene education program in kindergarten classes in area schools. We are currently seeking to expand this program to other schools and potentially assisted with a statewide program.
