APIC Greater Buffalo Chapter 111 serves the Western New York Region. Our local APIC chapter has Infection Preventionists from many different healthcare settings, including acute care, long term care, behavioral health, home care, rehabilitation facilities, developmental facilities, ambulatory care, public health and representatives from companies supporting infection prevention measures. An Infection Preventionist has a challenging, unique role in healthcare and our chapter’s members are multidisciplinary. Western New York has had an Infection Control group since the 1980s and became part of APIC National in 1992.

Infection Prevention is a constantly evolving discipline. It is helpful to look back at how we as Infection Control Practitioners, Professionals and now Preventionists have benefited from each other’s experiences and knowledge over the years. Benefits include both local and national educational opportunities and resources. We welcome you to join us.

APIC Greater Buffalo strives to improve health by serving the needs and aims common to all disciplines that are united by infection control and epidemiology activities.
